Thought of the Day

"If you love Me, keep My commandments." ... John 14:15

The Ten Commandments were laws given by God as guidelines for daily living.  They are divided into two sections as follows:

Our relationship to God:

Our relationship to other people:

      1. Trust God only

      5. Respect and obey your parents

      2. Worship God only

      6. Protect and respect human life

      3. Use God's name only in ways that honor Him

      7. Be true and faithful to your spouse

      4. Rest and honor God on the holy Sabbath day

      8. Do not take what belongs to others

      9. Do not lie about others

    10. Be satisfied with what you have

In the chart above, the meaning of the commandments are only briefly stated.  Open your Bible to the book of Exodus, chapter 20, verses 1-17 and read the actual commandments for yourself.  As you read, open your heart and allow the Lord to touch your spirit with His love.

Although more than 3,000 years old, these commandments are still relevant today, as Jesus upheld them when He said:

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets.

I did not come to destroy but to fulfill."  ...  Matthew 5:17
